What is media literacy?
According to “Learning for life in our times”, Trilling and Fadel said that Media literacy is refers to the medium of delivering messages (print, graphics, animation, audio, video, Web sites, and so on).Passing the information through the medium will make it easier for people to accept it and speed up the spread of information.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
The important thing about media literacy is that it prevents us from being influenced by misinformation or biased information. The reason why some high-profile self-media users can gain many followers is because they can express correct values and opinions. And the values and opinions they convey will help us establish our own position without being affected by misinformation.
WHY IS IT DISMISSED?
It is dismissed because the importance of media literacy is not known to many people. There are still many false statements and untrue information on social media. And use these negative information to hurt and slander other people, which makes it impossible for many people to establish correct values.
WHY SHOULD YOU AIM FOR VARIED VIEWS BUT THE FACTUAL CONSENSUS IN YOUR PLN?
On the Internet, it is normal for people to have different ideas. I am not sure that my idea is correct. The idea of others is wrong. This requires us to reach a real consensus in PLN. People in PLN can think more from different perspectives and can connect them to their own perspectives. In this process, the understanding of the problem has been supplemented. However, all opinions need to be based on factual consensus to ensure that people will not be misled by false information with strong personal biases.

Firstly, I agree with the definition of media literacy and the importance of media literacy you wrote about. After reading your blog, I have different thoughts about why people will have fewer conflicts in PLN. I think it’s because we have similarities, so we will meet in the same PLN. However, I think your opinion is right. And, I strongly agree with what you said that “all opinions need to be based on factual consensus to ensure that people will not be misled by false information with strong personal biases.”
